Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.

Public Speaking Success!
Charlie in Year 9 today winning the regional round of the 2025 Junior Secondary Speaking Award competition.
Competing against 15 other contestants, she gave a 5 minute prepared speech - 'Whales Waste and the Planet' along with a two minute impromptu speech.

Designing the game ball
Violet was chosen to paint a football as part of the Brisbane Broncos Indigenous Round celebrations later this season. The finished products will be displayed at the Red Hill Clubhouse.
Violet chose to use a design that means a lot to her as well as a representation of community coming together.
"The beach and the kangaroo represent my connection to my dad and my culture. This is one way I stay connected. The dots throughout the beach are me, my dad and my ancestors. The sun represents dad and ancestors shining light on me. The meeting place represents the community and the spirits all coming together."

Beatrice finds a new home!
Welcoming the newest addition to the MHS family - our new calf Beatrice. Beatrice sadly became an orphan at birth but is now settling in nicely to her new home and is getting lots of cuddles and attention from students!
Miah-Bella's Poem
A big thank you to the Beyond the Broncos crew who came down to film Miah-Bella's poem "Echoes of the Ancestors".
Miah wrote this poem during the Leadership Summit earlier in the year. It will be shown at the upcoming Principal's Forum to showcase some of the amazing work of our future leaders.
