In our classroom

Across all subjects, students can access extension pathways such as challenge tasks, mastery goals, accelerated content, enrichment electives, student-led inquiry, and real-world project opportunities. Teachers use pre-assessment, flexible grouping, targeted feedback, and individualised goal-setting to extend learners at their point of need. Creativity, innovation and problem-solving are nurtured through authentic performance and products, design thinking, and cross-curricular inquiry.
Across our school
As a school community we champion excellence through a broad range of enrichment opportunities that support academic, creative, leadership, and wellbeing potential. Students may be invited or apply to participate in advanced music, drama, dance and visual arts programs; STEM enrichment and digital creativity initiatives; debating and public speaking; extension sports pathways; enterprise and leadership projects; Student Leadership as part of our Student Parliament; and our CAPA experiences such as Amplify, Under the Lights and Turning Tide Theatre Festival. Our House and Kin programs build voice, belonging and leadership for every student, offering advanced roles for high potential learners in community design, governance and event-leadership.
Across NSW
Students at Murwillumbah High School are encouraged to broaden their potential through state-wide opportunities that connect them with expert mentors, specialist programs, and like-minded peers across NSW. Students regularly engage with offerings such as: Aurora College enrichment, NSW Arts Unit programs (including Drama Ensembles and State Music Festival), Theatresports Schools Challenge, STEM and coding competitions, state leadership forums, university outreach and mentoring programs, regional performance festivals, and DoE enrichment camps. We actively identify, promote and support these pathways to help students pursue excellence at a state level and beyond.
