P&C - Financial Hardship Assistance

Hardship Funds Request Instructions

The P&C will accept applications for financial hardship assistance for MHS students, groups, and projects at the discretion of the P&C.

This assistance may include:

• Support for young people by assisting with school organised fundraising

• Suggesting where sponsorship may be available

• Direct financial support

Applicants are encouraged to seek additional fundraising or sponsorship support where possible, and to provide details of these efforts in the application.

The type of supported events may include:

• Academic, cultural, sporting, or specific program a student is involved in.

• Physical resources for school-based initiatives

Written applications, as indicated below, should be tabled at a P&C meeting, and presented to the Principal before the next scheduled meeting. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee funding. Each request will be considered carefully and fairly, and outcomes will be communicated as soon as possible.

Each application will be considered on its merits. The decision will take into account:

• The benefit to the student/s involved.

• The attempts at raising funds by other means.

• The resource’s potential to enhance the school’s reputation.

• The student/s support of the schools’ Student Behaviour Support Management Plan.

• P&C’s current budgetary position.

Application requirements:

Financial assistance application given to the Principal prior to the P&C Meeting.

Application includes supporting documentation. Eg receipts, competition information, and details of other fundraising/financial sources attempted.

Applicants (or their representative) are asked to confirm with the Principal if they are able to attend the next P&C meeting to briefly discuss their request.
