Dear Parents, Carers and Families
You may have heard that this morning Murwillumbah Learning Community High School received a bomb threat via email. While thankfully this threat was a hoax, we take the safety of our students and staff extremely seriously and made sure we evacuated everyone promptly while the police came to the school to investigate.
While the investigation was taking place I was extremely proud of the way our students and staff came together to support one another and followed safety protocols swiftly and maturely. Once the police deemed it safe, we returned our students and staff to their classes to continue learning and teaching as is the standard departmental procedure.
Though the threat was a hoax, it is understandable that some students and staff found it to be distressing and may continue to be affected. Free counselling services are available at our school for any of our students and staff who need to speak to someone. Please contact us to arrange a counselling session via 0266715715 or MLC-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Regards,
Christopher Randle
