Murwillumbah High School (MHS) was established in 1929. It is one of the oldest comprehensive co-educational secondary schools in NSW and has a long tradition of outstanding academic, cultural, creative, vocational and sporting achievement, through the provision of excellent programs which meet the needs of every student.
The school's involvement in the local community is especially noteworthy in the arts and its annual Arts Week showcases all aspects of the creative and performing arts. Key inclusive programs address the needs of students with special needs and a variety of cultural backgrounds.
The school has a strong focus on engaging students with Asia and hosts two visits per year from schools in Japan, as well as travelling overseas each year to either Japan or Europe.
